Guidelines for B. Ph & B. Th. Students

1. Library is a sacred space for learning.  Strict silence is to be always maintained in the library.
2. Library is open every day from 7.45 am to 10.35 pm.   Scanning with your personal digital library card is mandatory for entering into the library. Personal library card shall not be exchanged among the students.
3. Books will be issued on class days from 1.30 pm to 3.30 pm. On Saturdays, it will be from 10.15 am to 12.15 pm.
4. Before going to take books from the lending library, kindly make use of the library program, provided in the computers in the searching area.  Kindly proceed to the lending library only with the list of call numbers of the books that you wish to take.   Library program is also accessible in pvpkottayam.in
5.  B. Ph and B. Th. students can take six books at a time; However, Third Philosophy and Third Theology students can take eight books at a time for their thesis purpose.
6. A book is issued for 14 days and it can be renewed for a period of another 14 days.  Non-return/non-renewal of the books in time will incur for you a fine of Rs. 1/ (Rupees One only) for each book per day.
7. Status of your books issued from the library can be known from the students’ portal, available in pvpkottayam.in or in the library program provided in the computers of the searching area.
8. If you happen to lose any book taken from the library, you are supposed to buy the same book for the library or pay the due amount to Fr. Librarian.
9. If you do not take the books picked up from the shelf in the lending library, please leave them on the shelf itself.  You shall not try to place them back in the position.
10. The reference library and the Wi-Fi facility provided there are intended only for the academic purposes like consulting the source books, ATLA digital database, downloading the e-books and e-articles, etc.
11. Group works, downloading and watching of entertainment programs, etc. are not expected in the reference library.
12. No head sets and ear phones/ear pods are permitted in the reference library.
13. You can use your personal computer in the reference library after the night prayers up to 10.35 pm. After the Leliya prayer, only Reference I is open.
14. Laptop bags, personal belongings and books issued form the lending library shall not be taken to the reference library.
15. You need not place back the books taken from the shelves in the reference library.  Please leave them on the table itself.
16.  You will not be permitted to take books away from the reference library to outside. 
17. Laptops and charging cables shall not be left over on the reference tables after the use.  
18. Reading room is intended only for personal and silent reading.  Please put the periodicals back in the shelf after your use.
19. Library and its premises are under video surveillance. Kindly co-operate with us to keep the order and neatness in the library.

Guidelines for L. Th. & D. Th. Students

Guidelines for the Guests
  1. The guests are welcome to use the Library during the following hours on all days except Sundays.
  2. The user should report at the reception counter each time he/she comes to use the Library
  3. Personal belongings such as bags, cases, printed matter, etc. must be left at the property counter and may take with them only the writing materials.
  4. Users have to select their books from the catalogue and request the Librarians to collect them from the stack. They have direct access only to the books in the reference section.
  5. Books are never issued for taking home but only for consultation in the Library.
  6. The Library has no canteen facility. Those who come should make arrangements for their food, etc.
  7. Strict silence is to be observed in the Library. Mobile phones must be switched off or be in the silent mode.
  8. If one finds any difficulty in the use of the Library or needs some specific information, he/she may contact the staff at the reception counter.
  9. Suggestions for the better functioning of the Library are most welcome.
